Q: Can I receive emails of the PAMP forums?

A: Absolutely. You have two options for subscriptions, for each forum:
Subscribe to “Instant Updates,” which will email you immediately any time a new post is made;
Subscribe to the “Digest,” which emails a summary of all activity in the past 24 hours. This is sent out daily.

Q: How do I set up a subscription to a forum?

You must subscribe to each forum separately. Go to the forum, and then click on the “Forum Actions” dropdown menu. See screenshot below:



Q: I am interested in a particular post. Can I receive replies in email?
A: To subscribe to an individual post so that you receive replies in email, click on the “Thread Actions” dropdown menu and select “Subscribe to Instant Updates”. See screenshot below:



Q: I posted to the forum. Why haven’t I received any of the replies in email?
A: In the new system, you must subscribe to the individual post itself to receive replies, even if you are the author of the post. After you create the post, go to the “Thread Actions” dropdown and select “Subscribe to Instant Updates”.


Q: I am trying to set up my subscriptions, and I only see "Unsubscribe" options. Why is that?
A: The subscription option displayed "toggles" based on what you have already selected. If you are already subscribed to a forum or thread, then you will only see the "Unsubscribe" options. If you are not subscribed, then you see the "Subscribe" links. In the screenshot below, the member is already subscribed to both Instant Updates and the Digest for the General Forum:


Q: I am not sure if I am subscribed or not, how can I find out?
You can find all of your current subscriptions in one place by going to "Manage Profile" (top menu option), and then scrolling down and selecting "Forum Settings" under the 'Community" area. Note that the system "toggles" between the "Subscribe" and "Unsubscribe" options displaying, based on whether you are currently subscribed. If you are subscribed to a forum or thread, then the "Unsubscribe" option is displayed, and if you are not subscribed, then the "Subscribe" option is displayed. In the screenshot below, you can see that the member is currently subscribed to the Daily Digest for all 5 forums, and to Instant Updates for the General Forum (since the "Unsubscribe" option is displayed on the right for those forums).


Q: I’m having trouble setting up my subscriptions. Can you help me?

Q:  I forgot my password, what do I do?

A:  On the Signin Screen, there is a link to reset your password. Click the link, and an email will be sent to the email associated with your account to reset the password. You do not need to contact PAMP administrators to do this, you can reset the password yourself, as  long as you know your username. Note - if this is your FIRST TIME logging in, you cannot do a password reset. In that case, if you don't know your username or password, please contact us. If you were converted from BigTent, your userid is your BigTent screenname, and your password is the same as your username.


Q:  The system keeps logging me out when I use my tablet or phone, is there a way I can stay logged in?

A:  You cannot stay logged in, but if you click the "Remember Me" option when you sign in, then when you get logged out all you need to do is click the 'Sign In" button at the top of the screen and it will sign you back in. You will not need to re-enter your username and password. The Remember me function sets a cookie, so be sure to have cookies enabled in your browser. It will "remember" you for up to 30 days.

Q:  I don’t want my address or email or phone number (or whatever) to be visible to other members. How do I hide that information?

A:  You can select whether to hide or make visible to other PAMP members each piece of data. In the Edit Profile screen, hover the mouse over the “head” icon to the left of a field. You will get the option to select “Hidden” for that field, just select that for any fields you want to hide.

Q: If I leave my personal information such as address and email “visible in profile”, is that visible only to PAMP members or to any website visitor?

A: It is visible only to other PAMP members

Q:  How do I email a reply to a forum post?

A: Unfortunately that functionality is not available in the new system

Q: I want to reply to an old post from BigTent that is in the “BigTent Archived Posts” forum. How do I do that?

A: You have two choices. You can grab the “permalink” for the post in question from the forum (click on the post to view, and you should see a “permalink” option, click on it and the post will be displayed on the page. Copy the URL from the top of the browser and paste it into an email, and send it to “”, asking them to copy the post into the “Live” General Forum or Domestic Help forum, depending on the topic. The moderators have the ability to move a post from one forum to another with a single click, so it’s easier for them to do this. Once the moderators have copied the post they will notify you, and you can then go in and reply to it. If you don’t want to wait for the moderators to move the post, you can copy and paste the post yourself into the “Live” General Forum or Domestic Help forum.

Q: Is there an App that I can download to my phone to use?

A: The new system does not have an app, instead they designed it so that all features are easilyl accessible on any mobile device. So you don’t need to download an app, you just use your browser on your phone or tablet and the system adjusts for the screen size in how it displays things. On smaller devices, the columns of images and content are “stacked” on each other in a single column, and the menus are collapsed, for example. So whether you use a mobile phone, mini tablet, tablet or laptop, you get the same experience.

One cool thing you can do is to create a Shortcut which will create an icon for your mobile device, just like an App, so you can easily access the PAMP Website anytime with one click.

  • Bring up our website on your mobile browser by going to

  • Hit the "bookmark" icon on the bottom of the screen (looks like a box with an arrow pointing up)

  • Select "Add to homescreen", enter the name that you want the icon to have (PAMP or something like that)

  • Select "Add"

Now you have an easy to use icon to get immediately to our website, and you can do everything from your phone - read and post to forums and blogs, sign up for events, view the calendar, message other members, etc. For screenshots and a more detailed explanation, click on this link.
