Why Get Involved?


   

As a volunteer-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, we rely on volunteers to make our events work and build our community. We encourage all members to volunteer in a way that makes sense for them  – whether it is serving in an ongoing role, contributing to our forums or newsletter, or assisting at an event. Volunteers bring new ideas that ensure we have the offerings and resources most relevant to members. PAMP volunteers benefit by shaping our organization and contributing to the most vibrant parent community on the Peninsula.


PAMP always needs more helping hands, and we hope that you will consider giving your time in whatever way you can.  Lending your skills and time is a wonderful way to meet new friends, as well as keeping your resume up to date. 

There are several ways to get involved with PAMP:

  • Fill one of the open “Ongoing” volunteer roles listed on this page
  • Fill a “One-time” volunteer role (description below and regularly updated in the forums as new needs come up)
  • Submit a blog post or an article for our website
  • Offer your expertise in responding to member questions on our forums on BigTent
  • Volunteer to help at one of our Large Events (request for help with role types and shifts typically posted on the website and BigTent ~2 months prior to the event

Board positions are elected positions, with elections occuring in April each year. Each position is for a term of 1 year.

One-Time “Project” Roles:

Do you want to help but don’t think you have the time to commit to a “regular” role? We always have the need for one-time volunteers to help with specific projects. These would typically take from 3-10 hours to complete, and could be done over a period of several weeks on your own time. Examples of such projects are posting flyers around town, helping to create handouts for events, helping plan a sponsored small event, or helping to answer new member questions. If you are interested in any type of “one-time” role, please just send email to volunteer@pampclub.org.
