Article Editor 

Function

Edit written articles and submissions for publication on PAMP's website

Responsibilities

  • Work with Online Communications Manager to collect incoming articles
  • Edit  stories and/or columnist contributions for relevance, content, length, grammar and spelling
  • Work closely with authors and contributors on all written submissions
  • Maintain and enforce newsletter contribution guidelines
  • Actively participate in Communications Team meetings

Qualifications

  • Professional writing and editing experience highly desired
  • Computer savvy
  • Ability to work within a timeline and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Time Commitment

  • 1-2 hours every other month

Reports to

  • Communications Manager

 

Content Creator 

Function

Contribute articles/content to the PAMP website

Responsibilities

Accept assignments and deadlines from the Managing Editor. Staff writers may also pitch their own article ideas to the Managing Editor.
•Produce high-quality writing that meets newsletter submission guidelines. Articles should be thoroughly researched, include local sources, and appeal to the PAMP audience.
•Work closely with Article Editor(s)/Managing Editor to revise and finalize articles for publication.

Qualifications

  • Professional writing/reporting experience highly desired
  • Interest in creating fun and interesting content for our website
    • review of businesses and events that may interest PAMP members
    • parenting advice
    • information on activities and resources in the area
  • Computer savvy, especially experience with or willingness to learn Google Drive and Word’s Track Changes
  • Ability to execute assignments with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work within a timeline and meet deadlines

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible: Produce one article each month or every other month, as desired; 1 yr term

Reports to

  • Communications Manager

 

Graphic Designer

Function

Create and execute design of PAMP’s marketing materials

Responsibilities

  • Design and create PAMP’s marketing collateral and designs, including web banners, signage, event logos and printed material
  • Support development of messaging and communications to support PAMP programs and to generally promote the organization

Qualifications

  • Graphic Design skills, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Deadline driven
  • Detail oriented

Reports to

  • Board Director, Outreach

Time Commitment

  • Per project basis, average 5 hours per month



Photographer/Photo Editor 

Function

Create or obtain all website photos to correspond with article topics and content; work with PAMP member photographers to solicit photos.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a corps of contributing photographers; this will include making assignments, maintaining contact information and recruiting new photographers
  • Coordinating with the Communications Manager to determine monthly photo needs
  • Working with contributing photographers to produce quality digital images to accompany articles
  • Contributing photos each month as needed/desired
  • Ensuring that all human subjects (or their parents/guardians) have provided a written release allowing us to publish their likeness on the PAMP website
  • Attending or finding volunteers to attend and photograph PAMP-sponsored events

Qualifications

  • Photo editing and photography skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work with deadlines

Time Commitment

  • Term: 1 yr
  • Hrs per month: 5-10

Reports To

  • Communications Manager

 

Webmaster 

Function
Lead the ongoing technical support for the PAMP website

Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations Manager to identify website content improvements
  • Establish standards for managing content (image specs, CSS style definitions)
  • Assist staff in making website changes

Qualifications

  • Experience with website design
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS

Time Commitment

  • 5-20 hrs/mo; 1 year
